About Us
David and Karen Brown agree that one of the greatest benefits to a career in photography is the relationships that are created. They have a lot of fun with their photography and love meeting new people.
Giving back to the community is important to David and Karen. They volunteer their photographic talents to worthy non-profit organizations such as Hospitality House Youth Directions of Minneapolis and support Teen Challenge with a portion of their proceeds.

It all began in Minnesota with a kid and a 110 Kodak Hawkeye camera. I knew, at the age of 12, I would be shooting photos for the rest of my life. After receiving a B.F.A. degree from University of Minnesota/Duluth in photography and commercial art, my education continued in the Winona International School of Professional Photography and copious formal classes and seminars to hone my technical and artistic excellence.
My photography experience covers: black/white, color, film and digital in large, medium and 35mm formats; darkroom and photoshop; wedding, senior, family, children, commercial, corporate, advertising and editorial. I've had the honor to photograph Gerald Ford, Liberace, Glen Campbell, Tina Turner, Roger Staubach, Reba McEntire, Colin Powell, Charles Kuralt, Nipsey Russell and Red Skelton. If it involves photography, I love to do it.
Over time, my creative outlets expanded to the design and construction of photographic sets and props. More recent sets include Santa's Workshop, 1930s Texaco Gas Station and 1900s City Garage.

A passion for photography began in the film era when I took a black and white class in college in my native Texas. I soon discovered that my images were able to communicate to an expanded audience, and a photography career began to take shape.
I have had the privilege of photographing weddings in San Francisco, Dallas, the Florida Keys, and Germany, and traveling to Japan, England, Holland, France, Italy, Brazil, Peru, and Greece to expand my portfolio.
My work fuses artistic techniques with light, gestures and emotion to create an image as unique as the subject and the resulting portraits are far from a packaged production. They are a personal statement of life, making the soul more visible--portraits that communicate how we feel about ourselves and those close to us. I continue to explore my art through education, travel, photojournalism, portraiture and automotive photography. Fine art is my passion, a physical articulation of my relation to the world and humankind and a magical connection into the human spirit.
